Foundation Grants--
Cimarron Feeders Raises $13,000
This
was the first year that Cimarron Feeders participated in the Relay for
Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. We sponsored a golf
tournament, and with the help of donations from our many sponsors, our
Relay for Life team was able to raise $6,585.46. We also received
matching funds from the ContiGroup Companies Foundation, which brought
our total funds raised to $13,191.87. This gave us the honor of being
this year's biggest fundraiser for the Texas County Relay for Life. The
total amount that was raised by the Texas County Relay for Life event
this year was $60,278.88.

Dobson Elementary Receives Grant
Dobson
Elementary School received a significant grant in August for its
English as a second language Early Reading Intervention Program. Wayne
Farms contributed $2,500 to the program and the ContiGroup Foundation
matched this amount for a total $5,000 contribution.
"We're
very fortunate to get the grant," said Dobson Principal Jan Varney, who
noted that 88 students at the school had limited English proficiency.
"This will impact all 88 of those children and carry over to the homes
and everywhere else." Varney said that the grant would go to purchase a
computer, a printer, software, English/Spanish dictionaries, and basic
English handbooks.

Future Farmers of America Earn Support
At
the combined request of Wayne Farms, ContiBeef, and PSF, the ContiGroup
Foundation has contributed $45,000 to the National Future Farmers of
America. The grant supplements ongoing contributions from Wayne Farms,
ContiBeef and PSF, and is part of a special fundraising drive to
provide the FFA with new information systems.
